  • Caption from caption list: Major Evelyn Wrench, Secty. of the English Speaking Union, today presented Secty Daniels for the United States Navy, a check for Six Thousand Pounds, part of a fund collected in England by popular subscription to commemorate the work of the Dover Patrol which kept the Strait of Dover clear of German Submarines during the War. The Navy will use this fund to erect a monument on Government land in New York harbor. The balance of the fund was used in erecting monuments on the shores of France and one at Dover to comemorate [sic] the work done by our Navy. Photograph of the presentation made in Secty Daniels Office Left to Right Secty. Daniels, Major Wrench and Hon L.C.Lindsay until today Charge d Arraires [sic] of the British Embassy. The others in the photograph are British and American Naval Officers.
