Decauville locomotive works N° 399 of 1904 ex Navua N° 3 at Millaquin (John L. Buckland's collection, photo presumably by Gifford Eardley or Bart Wiles)

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Decauville locomotive works N° 399 of 1904 ex Navua N° 3 at Millaquin (John L. Buckland's collection, photo presumably by Gifford Eardley or Bart Wiles. Martin Rogers stated in his article on the Vancouver-Fiji Sugar Company (Light Railways magazine LR. 78 of Light Railway Research Society of Australia) that locomotives Nos 2 and 3 (Decauville 38/1883 and 399/1904) came to Australia after 1922. Jack Brady stored No. 3 at Millaquin sugar mill for many years before it was scrapped in 1937. According to the caption in the late Gifford Eardley's hand writing (and amended by George Bond as to its origin) this photograph of John L Buckland's collection is of ex-Navua No. 3 at Millaquin. Presumably, the photo was either taken by Eardley or Bait Wiles.)
