| Description |
Having a crew in the smaller boat was more efficient. They could get to an area more quickly, search and gather hazardous items and move on to the next spot while a crew on a larger, flat bed boat came along and loaded what they found. During the first week of December, EPA sent out multiple crews to search for and remove potentially hazardous containers within Jamaica Bay and the western end of Great South Bay, Long Island, New York.
