Description
English: Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Mara Pavkovich strikes the ship's bell during her watch on the Quarterdeck of the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) on April 12, 2005. The ship's bell is rung to announce the arrival or departure of senior personnel, inform the ship's crew of the time throughout the day, and announce emergencies as needed. Pavkovich is a Navy quartermaster aboard the ship.
