YORBEUICHT. iflit den folgenden blättern übergeben wir der gelehrten weit die fruchteiner langen arbeit; denn so wenige es deren auch sind, so enthalten sie dochvielleicht die mühen eines ganzen jahres. es ist die ausbeute von siebea-zig handschriften, wobei uns noch andere zweihundertundsiebenunddreissig,jene nicht mitgerechnet, welche wir auf der Stadtbibliothek durchsuchten,durch die bände gegangen sind, denn so brav auch die handschrifts-verzeichnisse der Stiftsbibliothek sind, so sind sie doch für den zweck,den wir verfolgen, nicht ausreichend, und wir mussten in der erwartung,grösseres, kleineres, nichts zu finden, alle handschriften, meist blatt fürblatt, oft zeile für zeile durchlaufen, einer muss sich einraahl dieser arbeitunterziehen, und da wir uns dafür angekündigt, nicht ganz die grossederselben überschauend, wollen wir auch unser wort lösen, obgleich unsdie arbeit noch dadurch bedeutend erschwert wurde, dass wir jetzt fernvon St. Gallen, das wir verlassen mus
