V/ith the exception of the 170-foot girder-spanerected in India more than 40 years ago, the 131-foot 4-inchbridge of the Erie Railroad is the longest known. It spansYankee Run near Hubbard, Ohio. In weight it is about tnesame as a truss bridge of the same length. It is a single-track bridge of the deck-girder type^ and carries a trackhaving a curvature of 3 degrees and 30 minutes. The gir^ders are placed 9 feet on centers,and are aboat 10 fe3tdeep. The web is l/2-inch thick at the center and 9/l6inch at the ends. The camber is l/s-inch per 10 feet. The maximum flange section consists of four 6 x8 X 7/8 angles and four 20 x s/s cover plates. The
