English: Woods on the western end of Lake Milligan in Miller Precinct, Alexander County, Illinois, United States. In the middle of the woods, but not here visible, is a group of mounds built by peoples of the Mississippian culture, who lived in a surrounding village. Known as the Dogtooth Bend Mounds and Village Site, the woods and surrounding fields are an important archaeological site and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. |
