Description
Svenska: Efter tre veckors vistelse i USA återkom på lördagskvällen till Stockholm docent Gunnar Lindgren i Medicinalstyrelsen. Han har deltagit i en antibiotika-kongress som Lederle Laboratories anordnat i New York och Washington. Kongressen, som samlat 35 läkare från lika många länder, inleddes med ett veckolångt symposium i hälsovårdsministeriet i Washington, berättade docent Lindgren vid ankomsten till Bromma. Särskilt intresse väckte den nyaste "undermedicinen" tetracyklin, som fått en mycket spridd användning inte bara inom humanmedicinen utan även för att befrämja tillväxten hos djur och påverka växtligheten. Man håller även på med försök att utröna tetracyklinets möjligheter vid behandling av tumörer, framhöll docent Lindgren. Tetracyklin finns i Sverige under namnet achromycin.
