Dieses Signal sicherte die Einmündung der Schmalspurbahn in das Vierschienengleis mit der normalspurigen Wieserbahn. Es ist das älteste noch erhaltene Eisenbahnsignal dieser Bauart (zumindest) in Österreich und wurde 2012 renoviert. Distanzsignale standen auf Bremsweglänge vor dem Gefahrenpunkt, den sie sichern sollen und vor dem der Zug (ohne dass sich dort ein weiteres Signal befand) stehen zu bleiben hatte. Sie hatten keine Vorsignale. Das Signal hat seit der Auflassung der Einmündung 1980 keine Funktion mehr.
