Environmental Protection Value * It can purify air, and absorb nicotine and formaldehyde.

Health and Environmental Issue
*The leaves contain calcium oxalates, which damage internal organs when ingested. Schefflera plants, commonly cultivated as ornamentals, contain irritating and potentially toxic compounds. The sap of these plants can also cause skin irritation. *Certain Schefflera species are considered invasive in Florida, Australia, Hawaii and on some Pacific islands.
