Français : Dans l'océan Atlantique, un El Niño entraîne généralement un fort cisaillement du vent, des températures plus froides, des alizés puissants et une stabilité atmosphérique accrue. Ces conditions environnementales sont défavorables aux cyclones tropicaux. Cependant, dans l'océan Pacifique, l'activité des cyclones tropicaux augmente, en raison du faible cisaillement du vent, du réchauffement de la température de l'océan et de la stabilité atmosphérique, ces conditions environnementales sont favorables à la survenue de cyclones tropicaux. Dans l’océan Atlantique, La Niña est généralement caractérisé par un faible cisaillement du vent, des températures de l’océan plus chaudes, des alizés faibles et une stabilité atmosphérique moindre. Ces conditions environnementales sont propices aux cyclones tropicaux. Cependant, dans l'océan Pacifique, l'activité des cyclones tropicaux diminue en raison du fort cisaillement du vent, des températures plus froides de l'océan et de la stabilité atmosphérique accrue. Ces conditions environnementales sont défavorables aux cyclones tropicaux.
