“New York Decbr 3, 1828
Esteemed Friend
The Sloop Eliza Wright arrived on Saturday evening with 80 Bbls of your Flour and yesterday at noon Sloop Royal Oak with the balance 181 Bbls which we were compelled to receive forthwith. We succeeded in selling 1000 Bbls from the wharf, the balance were obliged to cart to store being landed at foot of Rutgers st. a place we considered unsafe to leave it during the night. We closed the sale of the balance today as pr statement annexed. We now consider it a good sale, how long it may remain so depends entirely upon European news which recently entirely rule our market and as we think without any just cause, as the price of Flour in hand in England has not yet been over 8 dolls and last quotations were under that price In consequence of English accounts pr arrival on Sunday, stating their market to be improving from the late depression, higher prices were asked during Monday and Tuesday, but few succeeded in realizing and today best western brands were sold at 8 dolls less 1 pr ct and a lot of E.S. Beech’s brand to pass inspection at $7 ¾. The 18 Bbls sold at 60 days were to a Baker a customer"

The 59 Bbls from stores were also to a Baker to be paid in all next week, they are not yet either inspected or delivered but we enter them all super fine being your brand they no doubt will pass. of the 13 Bbls marked Chamberlin 7 were fine and 6 Bbls were fine midlings. The drafts mentioned in your last have all come to hand. You will draw for the funds we hold in such amts and at any time that best suits your own convenience, with esteem
