Description
Deutsch: Die Eisenbahnbrücke Briescht ist eine stillgelegte, mehrbogige Steinbrücke in Briescht, einem Ortsteil der Brandenburger Gemeinde Tauche im Landkreis Oder-Spree. Das Viadukt führte die eingleisige Niederlausitzer Eisenbahn über die Spree, die in diesem Streckenabschnitt 1901 eröffnet wurde. Kurz vor dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs, am 25. April 1945, wurde die Brücke gesprengt und nach ihrem Wiederaufbau 1951 wieder in Betrieb genommen. 1995 wurde dieser Abschnitt der Bahnstrecke und damit auch die Brücke stillgelegt. Östlich der Brücke (links im Bild) liegt das FFH-/Naturschutzgebiet Spreebögen bei Briescht, westlich der Brücke (rechts im Bild) das FFH-Gebiet Spree. Die gesamte Flussaue mitsamt Brücke ist zudem Teil des Landschaftsschutzgebiets Krumme Spree.
English: The Railway bridge Briescht is a disused stone arch bridge in the village Briescht, a part of the municipality Tauche in the District Oder-Spree, Brandenburg, Germany. The bridge of the Niederlausitzer Eisenbahn spans the river Spree. This part of the railway-line was opened in 1901. Shortly before the end of the Second World War the bridge was blown up and after the rebuilt already put in operation in 1951. In 1995 this part of the railway line was disused. In the east of the bridge (in the picture on the left) is situated the Naturschutzgebiet (protected area)/Natura 2000-area Naturschutzgebiet Spreebögen bei Briescht, in the west (in the picture on the right) the Natura 2000-area Spree. In addition, the entire floodplain including the bridge is part of the Landschaftsschutzgebiet (german for: landscape protection area) Krumme Spree.
