upon a tangled mass of Christian revelation, inter-mingled with new phases of natural religion; and of theprovisions which the natural heart makes for itself, whenit indulges itself in will-worship ; that is, worship fashionedby its own will, rather than Gods. Yet the body of which they are members,is under an influence that is hurrying it on to results,which, unless arrested by a recoil, must be so unavoidablyfatal, that the contemplation of its end, fills the heart ofthe true Catholic with unutterable sadness.
