Description A row of U.S. Marine Corps McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A+ Hornets from VMFA-115, based out of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina (USA), sits on the ramp at Wake Island Airfield, Mid-Pacific during a recent trans-Pacific deployment from Hawaii to MCAS Iwakuni in Japan, 3 September 2011. The plane in the front with painted vertical stabilizers is the unit’s flagship, commonly called a “pretty bird” by crewmembers.
