Description
English: Farmland and the Los Angeles River looking north from Elysian Park toward Mount Washington, 1895-1915.
  • Photograph of farmland and the Los Angeles River looking north from Elysian Park across Elysian Valley toward Mount Washington of the San Rafael Hills, in northeastern Los Angeles. The San Gabriel Mountains are visible in the background.
  • Agricultural plots create a patchwork landscape throughout, while the L.A. River can be seen cutting through the farmland across center. There is a slight bend in the river at right, and several homes can be seen beyond the river.
