Title |
Finger ring (two views) |
||
Description |
English: Small ring made from plaited silver wire. Hand-made. Rings of this type have been examined at the British Museum, where the opinion was tentatively given that they may be 19th century cane ferrules. However, possible parallels include Viking dome-shaped mounts formed of interwoven silver wire, and a ring from the 'scourge' in the ninth-century Trewhiddle hoard. |
