The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA’s Terra satellite acquired this true-color image of the Four Corners region on December 11, 2017.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Orange and tan colors the rugged land of the high Colorado Plateau in the southwestern United States, while the green forests of the Rocky Mountains are topped with white winter snows. This area is known for a number of natural wonders, such as Monument Valley, Mesa Verde National Park, Chaco Canyon, and Canyon de Chelly. The scenic beauty is punctuated by the uniqueness of boundary-lines: it is the only place where the corners of four states meet, coming to a point at approximately 37 degrees north latitude and 109 degrees, 3 minutes west longitude. From the northwest and moving clockwise, these states are Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA’s Terra satellite acquired this true-color image of the Four Corners region on December 11, 2017.
