| Description |
The pedestrian portion of Fremont Street, known as Fremont Street Experience, was created in the mid-1990s to revitalize downtown, which had lost much of its luster after the rise of the themed resorts of the Strip. It stretches from Main Street (Union Pacific railroad tracks) to Las Vegas Blvd. (originally Fifth Street, then Los Angeles Highway). A saxophonist plays away as the overhead LED display canopy (installed by LG Electronics in 1995) shows relevant visuals. |
