Gamut of dyes used in color transparencies intended for projection.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Gamut of typical dyes (yellow, magenta, and cyan) used in transparencies intended for projection. It shows, on the chromaticity diagram (which represents the colors perceivable by an average observer), the gamut obtainable with three typical dyes used in positive projection films. As can be seen, the area of the gamut is much greater than that of the triangle having the three primaries cyan, magenta and yellow as vertices. In fact, the rule of the triangle holds only in the case of additive synthesis.
Italiano: Gamut di coloranti tipici giallo, magenta e ciano usati nelle pellicole positive da proiezione.
