English: Gramophone, triangular shaped, three curved legs, lid hinge on one side with lid stick, inside lid - plate label "Classic", metal playing arm with needle, metal turntable with blue felt covering-pad, three hollowed out containers containing old needles - metal and fibre needles, metal crank handle with wooden knob on left proper side, fretwork on right proper side panel 1 ‘Classic’ gramophone Enoch Jorgenson, Newtown, Wellington, New Zealand, circa 1926 wood, metal, felt, 1120 x 900 x 740 mm labelled ‘CLASSIC’ 1998.60.217 Castle 338 The gramophone, constructed by a local maker Enoch Jorgenson, features his patented triangular horn. The Castle collection contained numerous gramophones on which they used to play their large collection of classical records.
