Svenska: Stridshingsten Streiff är känd som Gustav II Adolfs häst som han stred med i slaget vid Lützen 1632. Streiff var en brun Oldenburgare som kungen hade köpt av en överste Johan Streiff von Lauenstein för 1000 riksdaler. Trettioåriga kriget utkämpades i Europa mellan katoliker och protestanter. Efter att Gustav II Adolf hade slutit stillestånd med kung Sigismund av Polen vände han sig mot den tysk-romerske kejsaren Ferdinand II. Den 6 november 1632 möttes Gustav II Adolf och Albrecht von Wallenstein, som ledde den kejserliga armén. Under slaget träffades Gustav II Adolf av en kula som krossade hans vänstra arm. Streiff fick ett skott i halsen och blev svår att styra. Den svenske kungen råkade komma bakom fiendelinjen och träffades av ett skott i ryggen. Kungen föll av hästen och Streiff kom tillbaka till de svenska trupperna, skadad och utan ryttare. Streiff medföljde processionen med kungens lik genom norra Tyskland. När Streiff dog eller avlivades i Wolgast 1633 tog man tillvara huden. En hovsmed David flådde huden och rengjorde köttsidan. Apotekaren Kasten Meyener betade huden med alun, salt och mjöl. Huden skickades till Sverige och monterades på en trästomme.Idag är Streiff utställd i en stor specialbyggd glasmonter i samma mundering som den påträffades efter att kungen hade fallit ur sadeln. På halsen skymtar ärret efter skottskadan. På ryggen bär Streiff den röda pärlbroderade sadeln med de tillhörande seldonen som kungen hade fått i nyårsgåva 1630 av sin hustru, drottning Maria Eleonora.
