Summary[edit]

Description
English: Still in the final Swissair 'Qualiflyer' basic c/scheme (blue lower fuselage) with Swiss International titles. Delivered new to Swissair in Mar-91, HB-IWB was sold to FedEx in 2000, for delivery in 2002 (N625FE assigned) but the sale was cancelled in late 2001 when Swissair ceased operations. It was stored at Zurich (ZRH) until Apr-02 when it joined the new Swiss International Airlines. It was returned to the lessor in Nov-03 and was then leased to VARIG Brazil as PP-VTF. The aircraft was substantially damaged in a landing accident at Mexico City in Jan-04. Repaired and returned to service, it was returned to the lessor in Sep-04 and leased to FedEx as N625FE. It was converted into a freighter in Feb-05 but not operated by FedEx and returned to storage at Zurich. It was sold to Transmile Air Services in Apr-05 as 9M-TGP and operated with them until they ceased operations in late 2008. It was stored at Kuala Lumpur-Subang (SZB) and was eventually bought by FedEx in Jan-11, this time as N644FE. It continues in service (as of Mar-13).
