Description
English: HMS 'Queen Elizabeth' (1913). A view aft from the foretop of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913), taken while the ship was steaming at 21 knots whilst on maneuvres. Despite some smoke emission from the second funnel, a great deal of forecastle and upper deck detail is visible. Of interest are the anti-aircraft guns (a 12-pounder on the port side and a 3-pounder on the starboard side), and the absence of the forecastle deck 6-inch gun moutings which had not yet been fitted to this ship. This image is very similar to N16771 and was probably taken within minutes of the other.
