Summary[edit]

Description

Delivered new to Channel Airways in Feb 1966 and the first of their four HS 748s to actually enter service with the airline, it flew its final Channel service on 29 Nov and was immediately repainted in Midwest Aviation livery for lease to that operator. I photographed it on the Southend apron on a cold, grey and damp 13 Dec 1967, shortly before it departed on delivery via Woodford. Midwest eventually purchased the aircraft and it was registered to them as CF-MAL.
