Text[edit]

Helen Grenfell Is Dead from March Injury. Denver, Colorado; July 25, 1935. Mrs. Helen Thatcher Loring Grenfell, pioneer Colorado educator, died here today, the result of injuries suffered in a fall last March. Born in Valparaiso, Chile, Mrs. Grenfell came with her parents to Colorado in 1870 settling at Central City. Three years later they moved to Longmount, and at 16 Mrs. Grenfell began teaching in the schools system. In 1882 she attended a normal school in New York and came back to Longmont to resume her teaching. From 1891 to 1899, she was Gilpin superintendent of schools. From 1699 to 1905 she was state superintendent of public Instruction. Shortly after the U.S. entered the World War, Mrs. Grenfell was appointed by President Wilson to a commission entrusted with explaining the attitude of this country to the people of Great Britain and France. Following her return here Europe she became a member of prison board and served two terms.

Works copyrighted before 1964 had to have the copyright renewed sometime in the 28th year. If the copyright was not renewed the work is in the public domain. No renewal notice found for the Greeley Daily Tribune for items published in the year 1935. For instance I can find a renewal notice for the New York Times for this year. If you find a renewal notice under a variation of the name of the publication, or a successor name of the publication, or any other evidence to the contrary, notify me and I will delete this.
