Hubway bikeshare celebrates its first year of service in Boston and has expanded into Brookline, Somerville and Cambridge. Photo courtesy Kris Snibbe, Harvard University. Hubway’s network expansion will deliver over 100 stations between the four communities making it truly a regional healthy transportation option for customers and visitors to the metropolitan area. Bike Share Hubway Bikes August 1, 2011 MassDOT’s financial support for Hubway includes a $3 million Federal Transit Administration livability grant awarded to the MBTA along with nearly $2.5 million in Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality funds allocated to the Clean Air and Mobility Program. If you have not taken a ride on a Hubway this season, there is still time– simply grab your helmet and a bike for your next trip. It is an easy, healthy and green transit option.
