Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This symposium at the University of Arizona highlights literary, poetic, and historical translating, particularly among working university scholars in various disciplines here on campus. Along with our visiting keynote speaker, the event will highlight local scholars and their insights from past experiences and current projects.

How, why, when, and in what sense can translation be a form of scholarly research? How has translating enriched your own scholarship, or your engagement with enduring questions in your discipline? How does translating shape the future (and the history) of the humanities and social sciences?

This Panel features: Thomas Kovach, Dept. of German Studies David Christenson, Dept. of Classics Irène D'Almeida, Dept. of French & Italian
