Description
Português: Ruínas das Indústrias Reunidas Francisco Matarazzo (IRFM) em Iguape (SP). A filial das Indústrias Reunidas, foi instalada em 1921, porém após a abertura do Canal do Valo Grande, o Mar Pequeno acabou assoreando. Poucos anos depois, o porto marítimo da cidade já não podia ser utilizado por embarcações de maior calado, impedindo assim a saída do arroz por aquele porto e levando à virtual destruição da cultura de arroz da cidade. A Matarazzo acumulou então prejuízos sucessivos por uma década, até que decidiu fechar sua filial em 1935, abandonando todas as suas máquinas e equipamentos.
