Description

Die Inschriftentafel aus dem Römerkastell Vitudurum im heutigen Oberwinterthur, CIL XIII 5249. Sie ist heute im Winterthurer Rathausdurchgang aufgestellt.

Die Steintafel (1,63 x 0,74 m) mit einer römischen Inschrift aus dem Jahr 294 stammt als Fragment einer größeren Tafel aus dem römischen Kastell Vitudurum. Im frühen Mittelalter wurde sie nach Konstanz gebracht und in die Wand der Mauritiusrotunde am Konstanzer Münster eingelassen. Seit 1965 befindet sie sich im Rathaus von Winterthur; in der Mauritiusrotunde findet sich lediglich eine Abschrift.

Der Text der Inschrift lautet wie folgt:
