Summary

[edit]
Description
  • English: "I understand here what is called glory: the right to love without measure. There is only one love in this world. To hold a woman's body is also to hold against yourself this strange joy that descends from the sky to the sea. Later, when I throw myself into the absinths to bring their perfume into my body, I will be aware, against all prejudices, to accomplish a truth that is that of the sun and will also be that of my death." Excerpt from Albert Camus' essay, "Weal in Tipaza". Stele in memory of Albert Camus (C.E.1913-1960) who wrote "Wearly in Tipaza" in C.E.1939. This stele is placed in front of the Chenoua massif, which is mentioned in the essay.
