Summary[edit]

Description
English: Intake pier in the Salton Sea, eight mile below Yuma, [s.d.]"
  • Photograph of an intake pier in the Salton Sea, in Southern California. Although the title reads "eight mile below Yuma", the south-eastern shore of Salton Sea is about 140 miles northwest of Yuma AZ—in Imperial County, CA.
  • A wooden walkway stands in the water on the left with the skeletal, wooden pier standing parallel on the right. Logs and discarded debris float on the surface of the water between them and boxes are piled on the walkway further back. Three towers stand at their ends along a dirt hill which extends through the water across the background. A fourth tower stands on a small dock in the water on the right with a large, lightly-colored structure on the coast behind it.
