In their hospital practice theyhave been quick to see its advantages. In the dressing of woundsDioxogen has proven an ideal antiseptic, not alone because of itsprompt control of suppurative processes, but because of its stimulationof tissue repair. In addition, it is odorless, colorless and non-stainingto tissues and dressings, qualities which have meant much to bothphysician and patient. During the last few years, especially since the war has placedan embargo on criticism, the flood of publications describingmethods and results of blood analyses has gradually been creepinghigher and higher. The clinician now asks for a blood nonproteinnitrogen determination as light-heartedly as he demands a blood-pressure test. Enough material has now accumulated to enable us to offer pro-visional answers to the questions: 1. Is there, from the purely clinical point of view, much to begained from blood analyses? 2. If there is, what is it ? 3. Is blood analyses the best means of obtaining the informationwe are after? If only so in parts, which are those parts? 4. What can be substituted with advantage?
