Text Appearing Before Image:
nd axles are 14 ft. on centers. Each end truck is intended tocarry 2/5 of the whole load. They consist of an irregular oval shaped frame of channel iron, carrying thefour corner chafing rollers, the two jaw castings, the brake mechanism and sup-ports for the motor and fenders. Intermediate cross bars in the framecarry the center castings with roller bearing attached to an idle frame. Thecenter truck frame is similar but smaller and arms on each engage the arms ofthe end trucks above swivelling pins. / Saddles are placed over each box to carry the springs and help support thefenders. One motor is used on each end truck only. The Railway Company*s standard brake shoes, axles, fenders and bearings areused. There are 51 trucks of this class. See drawing #10 on page #117. These trucks were purchased during 1890 and 1891 and at the present timeare so badly worn that it has been thought advisable to discard this patternand twenty-seven were destroyed shortly after the lease went into effect.

Has 5f 2 wheel base. Is usedon 25 ft. box cars. There are two trucks per car. The truck Is built fortwo motors. The frame consists of a flat bar bent in a rectangular form with roundedcorners, trussed on each side to support the hollow jaw castings which containthe main coil springs and guide the boxes. It also supports the swingingbolster with center pin and chafing irons which rests on two sets of doubleelliptical springs. The truck is pivoted at its centers. The RailwayCompanys standard brake mechanism, shoes, motor support, wheels, axles, boxes,bearings, and fenders are used. There is one set of trucks of this class. There is another truck of the same description made by the Laconia Car Co. See drawings #7 & #8 on pages ^)19 and #120. These trucks were purchased during 18
