Português: Temos o prazer de convidá-l@s para o ciclo de palestras do Instituto de Biofísica Carlos Chagas Filho (IBCCF) e dar continuidade à celebração de seus 75 anos. É com grande satisfação que anunciamos a conferência virtual a ser proferida pela Drª. Luiza Montenegro Mendonça, pesquisadora na Universidade de Oxford. O título da palestra é "Investigação da Replicação de SARS-CoV-2 e Vacinas por Criotomografia".
A Dr.ª Luiza Mendonça obteve seu doutorado no Instituto de Microbiologia Professor Paulo de Góes estudando diferentes aspectos da replicação do HIV-1 sob a orientação da professora Luciana Costa. Desenvolveu parte de seu doutorado no Instituto de Tecnologia da Califórnia (Caltech), se tornando uma especialista em criotomografia. Foi convidada a fazer um pós-doc na universidade de Minnesota, onde ficou por dois anos. Hoje é pós doc na Universidade de Oxford, onde investiga a biologia estrutural do HIV-1 e SARS-CoV-2, tendo publicado mais de dez artigos nestes temas apenas nos anos de 2020 e 2021. |
