Description
Nederlands: Van Kempen rijdt kalm en geroutineerd. Pijnenburg is driftiger en soms onbezonnen. Hij houdt ervan om door allerlei streken de menigte in een hartelijken lach te doen schieten, hij stelt zich soms wat aan, maar by wordt er populair mee en krijgt de opgeruimden op zijn hand. Alleen als hij rijden moet in ernst, als er gevochten wordt, als er slachtoffers vallen, geeft hij zich volkomen. En vroolijk is hij ook niet, als hij doodmoe, naar adem hijgend, na den strijd even uit ligt te rusten." Het is overigens merkwaardig, hoe frisch de Nederlanders blijven, vergeleken bij tal van andere koppels. Als er niets bijzonders gebeurt, moeten zij winnen. Als. ...

Van Kempen is ingenomen met zijn koppelgenoot. En Pijnenburg eveneens. Van rivaliteit is geen sprake, de samenwerking is uitstekend. Wat wil men meer? Nederland heeft hier een nationaal koppel, dat er zijn mag!
