Mean while every thing remained quiet inthe entrenched position before Alexandria;and working parties were daily employed instrengthening and repairing the works, whichbeing made of loose sand, were continuallycrumbling and giving way. A very dangerousand epidemical disorder, however, had brokenout among the patients at Aboukir hospital. On the 10th of this month, about twentystoreships and victuallers arrived in Aboukirbay from England, having touched at Malta intheir passage.
