Deutsch: Köslin, Am Runden Teich 14, damals in Deutschland
Karl und Berta Garbe, geb. Hase. Großvater war der Älteste in der Familie und Kutscher von Beruf... Das Elternhaus meines Vaters stand in Köslin, am Runden Teich 13. Die große Familie brauchte es für sich alleine. Als aber die zahlreiche Kinderschar ausgeflogen war, wurde der erste Stock vermietet. Vor dem Haus präsentieren sich meine Großeltern, Tante Anna mit Tochter und ein Bekannter meiner Tante.
In den hinteren Wirtschaftsräumen, die bei den meisten Häusern im 19. Jahrhundert vorhanden waren, ging ein Metzger seinem Handwerk nach. Am Schlachttag, einmal in der Woche, ging es hoch her im Haus am Runden Teich 13, in Köslin. Für mich, den Jungen aus der Großstadt, ein unvergeßliches Erlebnis.
