Description
Deutsch: Das Bild ist Teil eines Bildvergleiches zweier zum gleichen Zeitpunkt geschlüpfte Küken einer Legehybridlinie (linkes Küken im Bild) und einer Masthybridlinie (rechtes Küken im Bild) im Alter von 3 bis 34 Tagen.

Mit zunehmendem Alter wachsen die Tiere immer mehr auseinander. Nach vier Wochen wiegt ein Legeküken, das am selben Tag geschlüpft ist wie ein Mastküken, nur gerade halb soviel.Nach 40 Tagen, sind die Mastküken schon schlachtreif, die Legeküken haben noch kaum Fleisch angesetzt. Das Mastküken ist schon vor Ende der Mastzeit nicht mehr fähig, für eine Foto ruhig neben dem Legeküken zu stehen. Es wiegt zuletzt rund 1,8 kg und kann seinen enormen Fleischberg und die übermässige Brust kaum mehr tragen und sinkt immer gleich nieder ein.
