Description

La Cour des Lions est au centre de la résidence privée construite par Mohammed V. Quatre grandes salles entourent le patio.

De facture archaïque, bien que datant du XIVe siècle (selon certaines sources, la fontaine daterait du premier Alhambra construit au XIème siècle par un vizir juif) cette fontaine entourée de douze lions a donné son nom à l'un des plus célèbres patios de l 'Alhambra.

L' Alhambra formait une véritable cité royale constituée de palais, de bâtiments administratifs, de casernes, de multiples logis, de jardins, de bains et d'une grande mosquée. Érigée entre 1238 et 1358, cette forteresse abrita les derniers monarques arabes d'Espagne.
