Lady Bird Johnson Home Movies, Home Movie #31: 1965 in Washington, aboard Air Force One, and LBJ Ranch. Footage of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and others in Washington, D.C., aboard Air Force One and at the LBJ Ranch. This is a silent, color film. Following is a scene by scene description, courtesy of the Audio Visual Archives at the LBJ Library.

The film opens with various scenes of Washington, D.C. We see pink flowers blooming near the Capitol, and then three Red Cross nurses in front of a building. Mrs. Johnson talks to these nurses with the Capitol in the background. Next an unidentified woman and two children stand by a cherry tree in bloom. A boy climbs the tree while a little girl looks on. We see flowers and a water fountain in the park. The next scenes are of President and Mrs. Johnson and various individuals aboard Air Force One. Unidentified women play cards. Possibly Henry B. Gonzales? reads a newspaper. Two unidentified men sit aboard the plane and another unidentified man removes his glasses. Two unidentified women and a man play cards. Several unidentified people talk to each other aboard the plane. Lady Bird Johnson plays cards. LBJ (in a suit) works at his desk in Air Force One. An unidentified woman, possibly a secretary, looks on. People play cards, and a woman holds beagle. An unidentified woman and man show a newspaper front page. Next, LBJ and Lady Bird host possibly Mexican? visitors at the LBJ Ranch. President Johnson, Lady Bird Johnson, possibly John Connally?, and others talk at the ranch airport. A peacock walks near a fence. LBJ talks to an unidentified man in front of the house. The man and two women pose in front of the house. LBJ, without a shirt, talks with to Dale Malechek. An unidentified man and two women pose in a convertible. Lady Bird sits with these women in the car. Next we see wild flowers blooming in field. LBJ drives the convertible with Lady Bird and two unidentified people. Wild flowers bloom at the ranch. LBJ (shirtless) relaxes in hammock near the pool. An unidentified man relaxes in a hammock near the pool. An unidentified woman reads a newspaper aloud. LBJ swims in the pool. We see wild flowers in bloom and trees lining what may be the Pedernales? Addendum: The woman at about 2:30 is secretary Vicki McCammon of Texas, now Victoria Murphy of Portland, Maine. She was identified through this video by Pat Callaghan of WCSH6, an NBC affiliate in Portland, Maine. WCSH6 ran a story on Ms. Murrphy in June, 2012.
