| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) On May 22, 1915, an explosive eruption at Lassen Peak, the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range, devastated nearby areas and rained volcanic ash as far away as 200 miles to the east. From that devastation Mother Nature has formed one of the most beautiful national parks in our country. Because it is far off a main highway, this national park is the least visited of all of them. But that makes it so much the better. |
