Late Post-Medieval nut crackers
Description
English: A fragment of a pair of Late Post-Medieval (1700-1850) nut crackers, consisting of the hinge (now covered in iron staining), crushing box and moulded collar of one arm only, and broken where the handle would have extended. Measures 53.52x9.38x11.30mm and weighs 13.72g.

The outside of the crushing box is faceted, making it trapezoidal in section (8.39x3.99mm). The moulded collar is circular in section (6.7mm) with a pair of ribs to either side. is semi-circular in section. The fragment measures 59.91mm long, 12.62 mm wide, 7.27 mm thick and weighs 20.5 grams.
