English: The future U.S. Military Sealift Command navigation test support ship USNS Maury (T-AGS-66) is launched at VT Halter Marine in Moss Point, Mississippi (USA), on 27 March 2013. Maury was named in honour of Cmdr. Matthew Fontaine Maury, known as the "father of modern oceanography." Designed to perform acoustic, biological, physical and geophysical surveys, Maury will provide the U.S. military with essential information on the ocean environment. The ship was delivered on 16 February 2016. |
