Description Ens. Allen Gilliland, assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), learns the basics of maneuvering a tugboat from Capt. Jim Gerst of Moran Towing, the tug boat contractor of Norfolk Naval Base. Eight junior officers and the ship's chief engineer learned about tugboat operations to better familiarize themselves with the challenges of pulling in and out of port.
