| Description |
Set 540 is a small 49-piece set that comes with one minifigure and two police vehicles. Released in 1979, it was among the original sets of the Town series. The European market Set 644, Police Mobile Patrol, is identical to this US-market set. The complete set, which includes a motorcycle and a police van. The minifigure is interesting in that his badge and buttons are in the form of a decal, rather than a printed pattern. The police van has no room to fit a minifigure inside. Many classic Town vehicles share this problem. It is worth noting that the headlights, and the "POLICE" badging, are embossed into the bricks; those markings are very durable, and have not worn off at all after over three decades. |
