Title
Lin-EFAA72: Post medieval toy pig
Description
English: Lead alloy toy. Cast naturalistically rendered model of a pig. The animal has large oval ears which are held back against the sides of its head and a slightly, upturned pointed snout; it has four legs, one of which is now broken off, bulbous pot-belly and a short, curled, pointed tail. The build of the animal may suggest a breed post-dating the Agricultural Revolution of the 18th and early 19th centuries, so this is probably from a set of toy farm animals. Central joining line indicates this individual was cast in two pieces. Grey patina with pink patches. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.

Length: 44.77 mm, Height: 22.56 mm, Thickness: 13.23 mm, Weight: 20.33g
