Although Fairfax Avenue is best known for Los Angeles's Jewish population (and there are a few Jewish community services around here), there is also a Little Ethiopia. Granted, the Los Angeles area is home to many ethnicities, and is actually among the largest metropolitan areas in the world for some ethnicities (3rd largest Mexican, 2nd largest Armenian, 2nd largest Salvadoran, in the top 10 for Korean, etc.), but not many people are aware that there is also an Ethiopian enclave. Sure, it is only a few blocks of Fairfax Avenue, but it is full of restaurants, markets, and community services, and worth a visit. |
