In the application of airbrakes the company substitute metallicbrake beams for wooden brake beams, andin the majority of cases in applying coup-lers they substitute an improved draft rig-ging for what has been in service. The company arc strengthening theirtwin hopper coal cars by int/oducinglarger truss rods, so as to keep the cars upbetter at the center.
