Title
MEDAL
Description
English:

Incomplete Silver Charles II Restoration Medal. The medal was struck by Thomas Simon to celebrate the restoration of the Stuarts to the throne. The obverse features the bust of Charles II facing east. There are remnants of a legend at 12 o clock which reads 'BRI'. It should read 'CAROLUS . II. D : G . MAGNAE . BRIT . FRA . ET . HIB . REX'. The reverse of the medal shows a tree, and remnants of a legend which is illegible. It should read 'TANDEM REVIRESCET.' Meaning It will flourish at last. Originally the tree would have had three crowns on its branches, with a sun above parting the clouds. Most of these details are now not visible on the medal. The medal is incomplete as it has appears to have been clipped.

The medal is approximately 23.03mm in width and 30.25mm in length, it weighs 5.0g.
